Model Remodel worked with the owners of this classic Seattle Tudor to achieve a home with space and an open feel for their growing family. The result was an addition and a complete rework of the interior. The new home shines with a more open floor plan, updated appointments and efficient, new mechanical systems. The home received a plaster veneer finish throughout and preserved much of the original flooring and select leaded glass installations. These details reference the heritage of the home in context of the upgraded performance.
Model Remodel reused many of the existing finishes of the house including cedar siding, fir and maple flooring, fir stair treads, select bath fixtures, built-ins and furniture. The remodel achieved a Built Green 4-Star rating through the use of new insulation, windows, efficient forced air heating system and gas hot water tank, as well as recycled interior trim and windows.
