From monochromatic to bursting with style, this powder room remodel employs new wallpaper and aged brass fixtures to transport the homeowners instantly to the Hawaiian islands.
It’s well-known that wallpaper can either be a stylish accent or a decorating faux pas. We found a palm leaf wallpaper that creates the perfect playful backdrop for this chic tropical bathroom. Vibrant greens are balanced by muted pastels within the leafy pattern. A slab-front walnut vanity contrasts the all-white tile and countertop, while adding a touch of warmth. Modern sconces and simple, but luxurious, aged brass details let the wallpaper do the talking.
But if you look closely, you’ll also see some subtle complexity in the tile selections. The subway tile’s irregular edges have an organic, almost handmade, feel. Black marble hexagon floor tiles ground the space and add a final modern element to the room. With white veining, they too feel earthy and fitting for a tropical retreat. It’s these small details that we hope sets our designs apart from the rest.
While the footprint might be small, this powder room has big flair! It proves once again that a powder room is the ultimate space for a little remodel risk-taking. Bold colors and patterns in small spaces is an easy way to play with design elements you wouldn’t typically try elsewhere. We’d be lying if we said this tropical bathroom doesn’t make us want to add bold patterns to every room, or at least plan our next vacation.
