This basement bathroom and laundry remodel began with a challenge: a dated 1990s design and a cramped laundry area that lacked personality. The original layout was inefficient, and the design felt uninspired. Working closely with Model Remodel’s design team, the homeowners set out to reimagine the space, infusing it with their own personal touches, vibrant color, and practical upgrades that reflect their energy and lifestyle.
The result is a complete tear-down and rebuild that brings thoughtful design and bold character into every corner. The bathroom now features a brand new walk-in shower with sliding barn-style glass doors and a no-threshold entry for improved accessibility. Bright pink tiles line the shower walls from floor to ceiling, creating a cheerful focal point that’s modern and expressive. Brass and gold hardware add a touch of refined elegance, complemented by a decadent gold floral vanity mirror and blossom-inspired sconces that bring warmth and charm.
Personality in Every Detail
Functionality was a key focus throughout the remodel. The shower includes sturdy handles and a built-in seat, ideal for aging in place and ensuring comfort for all users. The oak and quartz vanity is custom-fitted to maximize space, while a retractable makeup mirror and towel hooks add convenience without clutter.
The adjacent laundry room received a full upgrade as well. Custom cabinetry and matching quartz countertops provide ample storage and workspace. A retractable drying rack and a dedicated hanging section make laundry tasks easier and more efficient, especially in a compact area. Space-saving solutions were thoughtfully integrated to ensure the room remains open and usable.

A pocket door now separates the bathroom and laundry areas, offering privacy while maintaining a seamless flow. The entire remodel emphasizes usability, accessibility, and personality, turning a once-forgotten basement into a vibrant and functional extension of the home.
