Swing by a Model Remodel jobsite or the office, and you’ll see quite a few new faces. In the last six months, the company has hired eight new employees. They come from different places and have different skillsets, but all are the same in their commitment to delivering excellent, sustainable remodeling to clients. To get to know the new staff, here are a few of the company’s recent hires:
- Jim Frank – Jim is one of Model Remodel’s newest supervisors. His main project, at the moment, is the towering home in Alki that we built into a steep hill. Prior to Model Remodel, Jim was working on a 5-Star Built Green home with another company. Jim has been in the construction industry for 40 years.
- Brian Papnick – Brian is another new supervisor, hired shortly after Jim. Brian is currently supervising a complete remodel of a kitchen in Kirkland. Before joining the team at Model Remodel, he owned his own kitchen and bathroom remodeling company.
- Elena Velkov – Elena is the company’s new marketing associate. She assists with all things marketing, including newsletters, website updates, social media and events. Prior to this job, she worked at Second Use Building Materials and a nonprofit clean energy advocacy organization in the Midwest.
- Weston Norwood – Model Remodel is proud to have on staff its first intern, Weston. He assists Model Remodel’s in-house designer, Morgan Ennis, on design projects. In addition, he enjoys gaining hands-on experience while helping the team out on job sites. Prior to Model Remodel, he taught English in Korea and volunteered as builder in Guatemala. He will start the University of Washington’s three-year architecture program in the fall.
The list of new faces doesn’t end there, though. And with a little luck, the company will continue to grow and hire more new employees. Clients and friends are always welcome to get in touch via phone or email to learn about Model Remodel staff and how they can support your projects.
