Madison Park Modern

Location: Madison Park, Seattle, WA
Scope: Basement, Bathroom

These artsy clients wanted a clean slate to hang their art, in addition to a place to put all their books. The basement was previously unfinished, with concrete floors. Recapturing previously unused space to create a sanctuary, Model Remodel maintained the client’s modern aesthetic demonstrated throughout the home.

The team leveled the floor, added oak planks, installed windows for natural light, and put in place beautiful French doors to let light travel through. The warm office and stylish library double as additional entertaining space. The basement completely transformed from one that was raw to one that is now not only livable but one that is bright, modern and welcoming.

At the same time, Model Remodel did a complete renovation of the master bath, to complete the contemporary look. The clients’ highest priority was light, so they picked white-on-white features. The darkest color of the bathroom was a heather grey, used only as accents. The tub is a clean white, and the shower is a simple glass enclosure. The mirror quickly made the space more dynamic, as its huge size takes up one wall of the room.
